The ADD song
I try to make braimee.com a PG-rated blog that’s fun for the whole family, so I wanted to warn you that this song pokes fun at ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). If you don’t find that topic funny, please don’t listen to the song. But if it helps any, I know several people with ADD who have heard this and enjoyed it without being offended. I got this clip from a friend, and I believe the source is KWDB.

Normally the things you post I would not be offended on, but as a sufferer of ADD, I was completely offended by this. It should be removed and banned from this and all websites forever. What a complete waste of 1 minute and 22 seconds.

I am a yound adult with ADHD, and recently heard this song on the radio. The station won’t post it on their website - they said they don’t want to stir up a bunch of trouble with local parents. So I just wanted to post here and say THANKS for making this available! I think it’s absolutely hilarious, and is a pretty decent reflection of just how the ADHD brain operates without medication and coaching.

I am an adult with ADD and was driving to work one morning scanning the radio for music when I heard it. I thought it was absolutely hilarious and adequately reflects how my brain operates. Thanks for finding humor in a disorder that is so hard for others to understand.

I think this is the song I heard twice on WGAR 98.5 and it was so funny. Who is the artist and the exact title of the song? Thanks

Diane,
I don’t know who wrote it, but I believe it was sung by Dave Ryan, a DJ on KDWB (www.kdwb.com) in the Twin Cities.

I heard a different ADD song on KUBL radio in Salt Lake City, Utah. Does anyone knowa where I could download it? (It is in an adult singing voice and talks about a surgeon with ADD going into the abdominal cavity, “hey, I have a cavity”, etc.

My 12 year old son has ADHD and is mildly autistic. I played the song for him and he thought it was funny. I laughed as well as my parents. It’s light hearted. If there is ONE thing that I should stress for anyone, parent, child, and anyone who hass ADD or ADHD you need to have a sence of humor. Life is so stressful as it is, I have and still am teaching my son, it’s okay to laugh. Not everything is serious in life. Yes, life can be hard and no it’s not fair, but laughter is the best medicine. And what’s best, it’s free.

This is SO funny! I’m an adult with ADHD, and this is so much like the way my brain works! I laughed so hard I - oh, look, a cat…
Thanks!

My son has a severe case of ADHD and I personally feel that this song is very offensive. You know if this were about adults that is one thing but when you go and you make fun of children that can not help the way thay turn out to be or that the fact that a major surgery caused them to be this way, such as my sons case, that shows the mentality of the person or persons responsible for creating this kind of garbage on our radios. And given the fact that it is being played when these children are getting ready for school is the exact reason parents are afraid to let their children listen to the radio unattended. I think the person that wrote this needs to put themselves in the shoes of a child in this position that gets made fun of everyday at school because they cant pay attention and see how they like it!!!!!

you can’t always laugh, it’s not fair, laughter helps Chris yet not the fix,Thanks Beverly ……for putting it in perspective for others the real life of it.

Beverly and Heidi get a life. I’m an adult with ADD and have children with ADD. Part of living with ADD is learning how to deal with it and laugh at the stupid stuff that happens exactly as it does in the song. By the way, if your children are young enough to get their feelings hurt about what they hear on the radio, you should either turn it off or turn it to the christian station. They will not play that sort of stuff. But if they are teens and they get their feelings hurt, you have a heck of a lot more to worry about than just a stupid song. By the way, the person who posted the song did say what it was about and even stated that if that kind of stuff offends you that you probably shouldn’t play it.

The song available above is not the ADD song that Sean Morey sings. I agree that the one above is not funny and could be construed as hurtful. The Sean Morey song pokes fun at adults, not children. I don’t have ADD or a child with ADD.

This song is SO hilarious !! I found out at age 59 that I have ADD. It sure did explain a lot of the stuggles I have had in life. It’s not all bad–just a little challenging at times. But, regarding the song—-if you don’t have ADD—- listen to this and welcome to our world !!!!! HAHAHA
